Erin Bates is the newest (and the youngest singer of Jumpstart.) Erin is ‘Rock Steady’ with her vocal performances and will earn your ‘Respect’ when you hear her sing this Aretha Franklin classic. Erin started her career in high school singing in coffeehouses. Since then she has found her way into the recording studio singing background vocals for artist such as the The Marshall Tucker Band!’ Besides being a talented singer, Erin also writes her own songs. Look for Jumpstart to perform ‘New Girl Now, composed by Erin. This New Girl Now leads Jumpstart with a youthful energetic exuberance!

Jay Metts brings a variety of musical experiences to the Jumptart band. Jay has been playing keyboards professionally since the young age of 13, and has performed with beach, rock, and country bands. Jay toured with the country band Shiloh, and has opened shows for Johnny Paycheck, Eddie Rabbit, David Allan Coe, and the Kentucky Headhunters. While at USC, Jay sang for 4 years with the USC Oratorio Choir. Listen for Jay to sing Tim McGraw’s duet ‘Let’s Make Love’ with Erin!

With many years of musical experience, Woody Woodward leads Jumpstart with his melodic searing guitar work, and infectious vocal work! Woody gets everyone involved with his personal rendition of Brown Eyed Girl. Passionately singing with Erin on Kid Rock’s Picture, gives the crowd a Jump Start every time! Woody’s impressive experience includes performing with Percy Sledge, Ray Stevens, and Good & Proper. You can even see Woody playing his guitar in Robby Benson’s movie ‘Modern Love’!

Jumpstart’s secret weapon is Joe Bates. Joe is the sound tech engineer for Jumpstart. However, Joe has become an integral part of Jumpstart’s dynamic stage show. When it’s time for some ‘Blues Brothers‘ or rocking to ‘Alright Now‘, or if the crowd is just ready to ‘Shout’, Joe takes over the stage with his dynamic vocals and energetic stage presence. Joe, with many years of musical experience, is also an excellent songwriter and exceptional guitarist. Look for Jumpstart to perform Joe’s original ‘Who Knows Whereville!’

Jumpstart’s newest addition to the front line is dynamic vocalist Alonzo Nesbit! Alonzo’s diverse and strong vocal abilities allows him to sing everything from Unchained Melody and Let’s Get it On, to Van Halen’s, Jump! Alonzo’s musical influences include Al Green, Led Zepplin, Queen, and of course his vocal twin, Marvin Gaye! Look for Alonzo to break out with his Blues Brother buddy, Joe Bates, on Soul Man and How Far is Heaven!

Jumpstart is anchored by the energetic drumming and strong lead vocals of founding member Chip Slaughter. Chip has been performing professionally since he was 13, and has experience playing jazz, rock, and of course Beach Music. Chip’s strong vocals shine when Jumpstart performs the Percy Sledge classic, ‘When a man loves a Woman!’ Before founding Jumpstart, Chip played with Weekend and Good & Proper.

Lawrence, our next newest addition, a former member of "The USC Marching Band" anchors our newly formed horn section.He also runs sound and lights as well as acting as DJ while the band breaks.His youth and love for music brings a spark every group needs to take them to another level.Listen for his parts at the our gigs, they make a difference!

Wade Miles, distant cousin of Buddy.................................not, brings a smooth new sound to Jumpstart's line up. Wade is another seasoned musican playing several instruments.Besides being a great bass player he also plays piano,flute and sax. Having a good sense of humor and being very personal Wade will help take Jumpstart to another level.
